Kabalikat: Negosyo Center

A Negosyo Center of RTC Mariveles & in cooperation with Mariveles Kabalikat Group also known as TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged /Displaced Workers) was created in support to Project SID (Sustainable Income Development) & Livelihood Program where it aims to develop a sustainable income generating projects and other source of livelihood for the different vulnerable sectors in the community. The training center provided the group approximate 1,500 sq.m. lot area to grow their own crops and have them cultured and nourished. The organically grown products of this project are being vended in front of the training center. From January – March 2020, the KABALIKAT members produced an income of P3,525.00 out of their harvests which makes them continue their hard work.
Organic farming practices promote sustainability as well as less pollution due to pesticides and inorganic fertilizers. It is a holistic system designed to optimize the productivity and fitness of diverse communities within the agro-ecosystem, including soil organisms, plants, livestock and people. The principal goal of organic production is to develop enterprises that are sustainable and harmonious with the environment.
Last July 2019, TESDA Regional Training Center Mariveles in cooperation with Mariveles Kabalikat Group also known as TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged /Displaced Workers) engaged in a joint project of DOLE related to Agriculture programs. This also leads the training center to attain some of the directives of the Director General on Greening Projects and institutionalizing of Agriculture programs.
The training center provided the group approximate 1,500 sq.m. lot area to grow their own crops and have them culture and nourish the plot. Every day different barangay members are assigned to visit and in charge of the area maintenance. They have produced different variety of vegetables such as pechay (Chinese cabbage), okra, eggplant, tomatoes, string beans, bitter gourd (ampalaya), bottle gourd (upo) and others. This also lead in compliance to the policies of “Bayanihan to Heal As One Act” wherein the objective is to reduce the adverse impact of COVID-19 on the socioeconomic status through helping the people generates income from their productivity.
