DTS focal Ms. Geniva Laira Condaya, represented the center for a signing of Memorandum of Agreement between TESDA RTC-Mariveles and Universal Weavers Corp/Medtecs Int’l Corp. on December 1, 2021. Mr. Duanmu Jianlang, Company Manager and Ms. Jean Alayon, HR Manager of Medtecs Int’l Corp delightedly signed the MOA for the purpose of supporting the TTI’s Supervised Industry Learning for learners. RTC-Mariveles will be endorsing trainees from Dressmaking NC II and Industrial Sewing Machine Operation to this company for their actual application of skills in the workplace which will run for eighty (80) working hours. Although there will be no employer-employee relationship between the partner enterprise and the learner, the company may still grant incentives in the form of allowance which is 75% of minimum wage in accordance with the existing rules and regulations provided it will be both beneficial for them.
Tesda recognizes the importance of exposing TVET learners in the actual workplace to further enhance acquisition of competencies and to work realities through sufficient industry or workplace experience prior graduation. This will further hone their skills including soft skills or life skills which would prepare them to be work-ready.
