TESDAmayan CBT San Miguel Orientation
“TESDAmayan” refers to the Agency’s aid to communities in need of direct and immediate assistance, affected by any crisis brought about by natural calamities, disasters, or any other untoward incidents which caused displacement among the residents.
After the assistance provided in Siargao for the victims of Typhoon Odette, TESDA RTC-Mariveles once again holds the desire to help the community with the initiative of their administrator, Mr. Santioque. After coordinating with San Miguel Corporation, the group composed of Mr. Elmer Bohol (CSR Head), former RD Mitzy Tangonan, Mr. Bhoyet Jumpay, Mr. Lawrence Fabros and other SMPI personnel and RTC Mariveles staff conducted an orientation on Skills Training and Livelihood program in Barangay Lucanin Mariveles, Bataan on February 17, 2022. Community-Based Training Focal, Mr. Norman Buan together with trainer Mr. Henry Ocampo, discussed about this joint CBT program of RTC-Mariveles and San Miguel Corporation with the following skills training to be started on March 7 namely:
1. Basic Solar Power Concept and Installation (night light and charging station) to be used for townsmen’s Bangka boats
2. Small Engine Repair and Troubleshooting
3. Food Processing (Tuyo Gourmet, Bangus Deboning, Toccino & Longganisa Making, Pickling & Salted Egg making)
4. Dressmaking (COC only/Sewing)
5. Bag Making
These livelihood programs are intended for the relocated fisherfolks of Brgy. Lucanin to be sponsored by San Miguel Corporation as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility. All skills area are inclusive of Entrepreneurship Training at the end of their program, Free Starter Toolkits for Small
Engine program, Free night light and charging station for Solar program, Free portable electric sewing machines for Dressmaking and Bag Making, P5,000.00 business capital for every trainee on Food Processing and they will be given allowance for their meal and transportation.
